| Q: Is this camp a good one for beginners?A: Yes, the Champions Football Camp is an excellent camp for those who have never played football before. Heading out to your first practice can be a bit intimidating because you will be mixed with players who do have experience. At the camp players will work with groups within the same age and experience range. The camp will teach players the basic fundamentals through drills and one on one instruction. Q: If my child has played for three years why does he need your camp?A: Our staff has a wealth of experience and success, and attends countless clinics and camps to improve their skills as coaches. We can expand on skills any athlete may posses or allow the athlete to try his skills in other areas of interest. The drills and fundamentals we teach will allow the athlete to practice all summer long to be the best prepared member of his team in the fall.
Q: Why is a non-contact camp better then one that allows contact?
A: While football is most certainly a contact sport the mistake many camps make is skipping the basic instruction of the fundamentals of the game. Our camp emphasizes drills and mechanics that athletes can practice on their own throughout the summer. For beginners much of the angst of football is created by the thought of contact, our camp will ease those concerns by getting the athlete comfortable with the basics. Q: What do we need to bring to camp?A: Each camper should bring a water bottle marked with his name. Cleats are optional; we will be using the new Sport Turf field at Old Redskin Park which accommodates cleats, turf shoes, or sneakers. Camp T-shirt and shorts. Q: Why do I need to register early?A: First of all by registering early you save $25.00. Secondly, last years camp filled up very quickly. Because of our commitment to provide for instruction we try to keep our coach to player ratio as low as possible.
